|The Queensland Office of Fair Trading has just announced this important update for certain licensed professions (including Real Estate):
Save time, renew online!
The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has expanded online services to now include online licence renewals for:
- real estate agents
- resident letting agents
- motor dealers
- chattel auctioneers and;
- field agents.
You can access our online services through the OFT portal, using a log in and authentication system linked to a QGov account. Logging into the portal will provide you with a prefilled form and the ability to track the status of your form through the renewal process.
To access a prefilled form and status updates, you need to create a QGov accountand link OFT services to the account by answering a few identify verification questions based on the information we already hold about you in our database.
If you can’t access a prefilled form by logging in, it may be that we don’t have enough information in our database to verify your identity. You can ‘step up’ your account by providing us with a certified copy of your driver’s licence or passport by post or in person at a Queensland Government service centre.
To renew online you will need to provide:
- the prescribed fee
- an audit report for any trust accounts operated (if not already provided to us), or
- a statutory declaration certified by an authorised person if a trust account was not operated.
Employed licensees will also need to provide:
- a letter from their employer to confirm employment at the address provided on the form.
Individual licences are currently only available to be renewed online, corporation licences will be included in the coming months.
Our online services will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Payment options include Mastercard or Visa debit/credit cards, BPAY or pay later (by phone, mail or in person).
It is not mandatory to create an account and use the portal to renew online as you can also lodge your licence renewal online by using a non-prefilled public form.
Paper renewal notices will still be sent out in the mail and information will be available over the phone on 13 QGOV (13 74 68), at Queensland Government Service Centres and OFT offices around Queensland. We’re just increasing the ways you can access our services.
